Sunday 29th October 2023 saw Master Michael Thompson conduct a Technical Seminar and Senior Degree Grading at The Grange Junior School in Hartford, Cheshire.
The event was attended by participants from as far afield as Bedfordshire, Lancashire, Shropshire, Wirral as well as the local clubs in Cuddington and Weaverham, with belt grades ranging from 9th Kup all the way up to 7th Degree Black Belt Master.
Master Thompson had made the trip from West Lothian in Scotland and was ably assisted by Sabum Luke Danskin, 5th Degree, from Grand Master Sutherland’s Bathgate gym.
Over the course of the day there was the Black Belt grading in which Blue Dragon TKD’s senior instructor Mr Alasdair Walkinshaw was promoted to 6th Degree and 3 students, Connor Fearon, Jacob Baxter & Jackson Bolton-Walker were promoted to 1st Degree. This was followed by a mixed ability session lasting 3 hours and covered patterns, techniques, pad work and had everyone sweating with the intensity.
Rounding off the day was the Black Belt session which again covered in-depth degree patterns, techniques as well as power breaking and finished off with a Q&A session.
An absolutely fantastic day was had by all and there were some very stiff bodies on Monday and Tuesday.
